On July 20 through July 23, 2009, Lee County Care & Rehabilitation Center hosted its first annual Vacation Bible School (VBS) for the community, residents, and employees! The theme for the VBS was a “luau with the Lord.”
Lois Gross, the chaplain, and the Quality of Life team worked together to make this program a wonderful success and truly intergenerational. Over twenty children from the community attended every day, and 55 of the facility’s residents were able to participate as well.
Lois Gross said, “The activities were wonderful for all who participated. During our program we studied Daniel, Moses, and the Ten Commandments. We had Bible study, crafts, outside games, and music–all of which was centered around our theme. It was wonderful and touching to see the children and their families interacting with our residents and staff. We are truly blessed and thank God for that.”
